A career built on anticipating needs.
My time spent as an audio engineer, music producer, and production facility owner taught me a lot. Mainly, it taught me to understand.
I quickly learned that as much as the job was about making great-sounding recordings, it was about listening. Listening to the idea the client is trying to articulate while keeping sight of the main goal: create a great product that the end-user will love. I achieved this time and again by effectively holding space for both the user's needs and the client's needs simultaneously. Sometimes, these needs seemed in opposition to one another - it was my job to find the space where they coalesced.
