Oolong Tee Time Finder
We live by our schedules, and oftentimes, those schedules can complicate or even render impossible getting together with friends or family. I wanted to conceptualize an app that enables friends to book an activity for times that work for everyone in the party. So, I decided to create Oolong: a tee time booking app that emphasizes searching available tee times by a time frame, rather than by a specific golf course.
The first challenge I encountered was conceptualizing the time search function. The idea was to enable a group to book a tee time that works for everybody, so a simple input field felt too limiting. I decided to implement a min/max search function to enable searching within a specific timeframe.
I got to learn a new (to me) Figma feature in order to execute a design idea for this page.
I fretted over the information hierarchy for a few days before I set my mind on this configuration. As a user, I decided that leading with the tee time details offered the most clarity.
For the home screen, I wanted the user to be able to dive right into booking their desired tee time while also keeping things visually engaging. So, while the main thrust of the app is the ability to search multiple courses by time frame, I also included the ability to browse nearby courses as well.
Enjoy the full prototype below! I had a lot of fun with this design, and am really proud of how it turned out. I hope you like it, too.
